New MH Development #1

Dear Heroes,

Hereby an update on the recent developments~ The team has been working behind the scenes. Our test environment (Alpha) has been set up, and we are doing initial testing with a couple staff members currently. (More about this and the player beta testing in the Beta Testing paragraph below) We are actively designing concepts and creating mock-ups. We are excited to share these these with you in the near future, so you can see the visuals behind the words!

Loyalty Coins Explanation

I will explain how it works without providing exact values (these are not ready at the time of writing). Loyalty Coins exist as a concept because we value all our players that have stuck with us through thick and thin. We want to recognise this dedication with the Loyalty Coin system.

  • Player achievements (gear, penya, Hero Coins etc.) will be converted into Loyalty Coins (from the 'old server').

  • This currency (LC) will be bound to your website account, and you will be able to convert this currency in the new launch of Madrigal Heroes ('new server'). There will be different things to convert to, but as this list is not set in stone, we will not provide the exacts yet.

  • The conversion is not meant to make you OP on the new server- It will be balanced in a way that provides your character with an advantage to leap you forward in progression.

Beta Testing

We are currently in Alpha testing. We are buffing out a few scratches, and will be moving toward a Closed Beta. The closed beta will have a limited amount of testers- We will have a few open spots which can be applied for. The closed beta is essential for testing all the base functionality, testing anything new we add and changes we make to existing systems. After the closed beta there will be a public beta- the main purpose of a public beta is for stress testing (how systems react to more players interacting with them, and how the server responds)

Time-frame

Closed beta testing is expected to show its wings soon, read: within a few weeks. The closed beta is expected to last a couple months. The closed beta phase is ESSENTIAL to not repeat any mistakes MH has made previously. We want everything to work as intended before going into the open beta! There will be no rushed updates. The open beta afterwards is expected to last about a month. Importantly, the closed beta may run longer if deemed necessary for our expectations for MH 2.0 to be met! We might open more closed beta spots as time goes on.

We will be updating you with a weekly or bi-weekly report once the closed beta has gone live! Expect outlines of what happened the past week, what was fixed or addressed, any screenshots and teasers (visuals) if we have them from that week, and any developer / admin comments.
